"Come to the Table" Cookbook History

During 1970, a group of women from the Mother's Study Club of EIghth Street Mennonite Church collected recipes from the congregation and published "Peek Into Our Pantry" cookbook. Proceeds from the sale of that book were used to carpet the preschool rooms and assist various individual member needs. In the fall of 2003, several women from the original group of "Peek Into Our Pantry" authors decided it was time to publish another cookbook. New techniques, new equipment, new nutritional information, and a younger generation guaranteed and exciting new adventure. We are pleased with the response from the congregation for sharing their recipes, and we are pleased with the evolution of these recipes into the new cookbook, "Come to the Table".

In Memory of...

The "In Memory of..." section is a collection of recipes from deceased church members. Some recipes are shared from members in memory of their loved ones, other recipes originated from the "Peek Into Our Pantry" cookbook submitted by church members who are now deceased. We honor all these members for their leadership and commitment to Eighth Street Mennonite Church.
