A Glimpse into the life of Eighth Street Mennonite Church
Eighth Street Mennonite Church is a member congregation of Mennonite Church USA. Following Christ in life through worship, service, and peacemaking are core to Mennonite Church values.
Worship at Eighth Street provides space to meet God and other people with convictions and questions about faith. Through scripture, prayer, sermons, singing, and special music; people of all ages are invited to encounter the divine and receive encouragement from the community of faith.
Fellowship Time, immediately following worship, encourages conversation while enjoying refreshments.
During Second Hour, various groups meet to continue with education, fellowship, and caring for each other.
While various opportunities for connection are offered within this community of faith, Eighth Street is also engaged with opportunities for service beyond the congregation including:
- Providing hospitality for families who find themselves temporarily without homes through Goshen Interfaith Hospitality Network (GIHN)
- Taking a week long service trip to Meridian, MS every January
- Serving the neighborhood at our Annual Pancake breakfast
- Organize 8th Street’s Smoothie Booth to raise money for projects around the world through MCC at the Michiana Mennonite Relief Sale each fall
